Alex Credgington is an associate marriage & family therapist and play therapist. He holds dual Master's degrees in Applied Psychology and Communication from Antioch University and the University of Washington.
Alex works with a wide-range of client situations in two practices: Centerlight Family Therapy for kids, relationships, and families, and Mindfire Therapy for professionals in Seattle's tech industry. Through these, Alex helps clients explore and navigate stress & burnout, anxiety & depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, child behavioral challenges, parenting/co-parenting, men's issues, job stress, and work-life challenges.
Alex practices therapy from a person-centered perspective, partnering with clients using a warm, collaborative style. Alex specializes in helping clients to explore the root causes of feelings and reactions, often experienced in the past, to help repair and align the present. In his work with children, Alex uses child-centered play therapy and child-parent relationship therapy to build self-esteem, healthy expression, and emotional regulation. As a systemic therapist, he works with parents to enhance their interactions with their child, and provides tools and resources to help be their best.
Outside of the therapy office, Alex is a published writer, active volunteer, and father of two. He is a lifelong learner, outdoor enthusiast, avid reader, and native Seattleite. Alex is a member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT) and Association for Play Therapy (APT).
